Wordless but not silent: Unlocking the power of wordless picture books

چکیده
Teaching literacy skills that require critical reading and linguistic output can feel like an insurmountable challenge when presented with students of varying language proficiencies. One valuable but often unused tool to surmount these challenges is wordless picture books (WPBs). WPBs be used develop more equitably among learners proficiencies, even in class native-speaking peers. They transcend cultural barriers found traditional literature a for exploring multicultural perspectives. However, are underrated misunderstood by teachers students, frequently relegated classrooms young, pre-emergent readers. We argue the power development English (ELs) all ages addressing common misconceptions, highlighting unique benefits ELs, suggesting practical pedagogical implications.
